Munib R Masri announces his donation of USD 1 million to provide vital foodstuff and medicines to the Palestinian people, and to assist governmental efforts to combat the spread of COVID19.
Masri affirmed the importance of community action and national unity in facing the crisis, highlighting a collective responsibility in attaining national welfare.
Masri welcomed the government’s guidelines for combatting the crisis, including contributions from the private sector and civil society institutions. All are welcomed to participate in efforts to provide sustenance and needed medicines for a minimum of three months. He also repeated his calls of ending the national division, to face the occupation effectively.
Masri called on those capable in the diaspora to contribute to Palestinian efforts, which stemmed from all provinces in Palestine. Furthermore, he called special attention to the basic needs of the highly vulnerable, including those of refugees, and the roles of the private sector and civil society in protecting workers’ rights and livelihoods, as an essential component in the fight against coronavirus.
